Nosh Brasserie & Bar
About Nosh

Nosh is the realisation of a dream to set up our own business. Like many people in our industry opening your own restaurant is something you talk about too often but usually its just talk. We had been talking seriously for at least two years.

Business partners Darren Dunn, Anthony Fenwick-Scott and Stuart Procter are the drving force behind nosh. Darren has worked in the hospitality industry in this area for many years, working previously at the Black Horse in Skipton, Crescent in Ilkley and Cutlers on the Stray in Harrogate. Anthony started his career in Harrogate and gained the majority of his experience in high quality establishments in the South of the country. Stuart's strong family and friends contacts have helped kick start nosh into the place to eat and drink in the area.

Skipton was always the first choice for the business, knowing the area, with many family and friends around and knowing what was already available. We also knew from our experiences that Skipton needed and deserved something different.

Against the odds of finding a suitable premises, Laycocks Agricultural Chemists was found and although there where doubts about its location, the layout lent itself to the style of bar and brasserie we had dreamed about.

After five months of hard work, the run down building was transformed, on a very tight budget, into what it is now - Nosh Brasserie and Bar - a stylish and contemporary space with the emphasis on relaxed drinking and dining.

Nosh now offers something new for Skipton, being unlike any other restaurant in town. Moving away from the traditional look, the décor at nosh is something you may find in a large city centre bar and restaurant. It is minimal yet warm and comfortable with some unusual design features. The design is something the customers appreciate and enjoy, but the main reason for our success is the food.

Nosh also has a full liquor licence so customers can come in just for a drink. We offer the drinker a quality selection of beers, wines and spirits, and stock some unusual and exclusive brands for Skipton.

By offering something modern and of high quality - and different, nosh has become hugely popular with local people, many of them becoming "regular" drinkers and diners. This has resulted in a very successful first year of trading and growing sales in our second year.

In November 2005 nosh won the Craven Business Awards "Restaurant of the Year" which we are very proud of.

We can't forget to mention our family and friends... Please visit the link to Anthony's brother, Justin's restaurant Coast, in Porthcawl, Wales. You can expect the same quality, service and style that you appreciate at nosh.
